Caden (girl)
- (Kay-den) It is from the Celtic root Cade. It means "Of Material Spirit." I was also told by a lady from Turkey that it is the Turkish word for "luck."
- After much deliberation we named our baby girl (now 1) Caden Audrey. The book we have says that Caden means 'little warrior' and Audrey 'noble counselor'. We wanted strong and smart meanings for her name - (as an opposite example -we liked Cameron, but one of the reasons we discarded it was that it meant 'crooked nose'. Now THAT's no fun to find out). Caden has nickname potiental is she wants it - she can be a Katie or Cady or whatever - but she isn't stuck with a cutesie name when she's 35 and trying to earn a living. The meaning is maybe a bit masculine, but it is strong and suggests that she may be something other than a doormat. Audrey, well, it's just pretty, too, and I can't help but think of Audrey Hepburn. My husband thought the meaning offset the physical 'Caden' with a more cerebral side. We tried to give her names that she could choose from to fit her personality as she grows, didn't easily rhyme with something awful for 3rd grade teasing, and that weren't the same as 10 other girls in school. But we didn't want them to be wierd, either.
